"The challenge I experience when attempting to understand and interpret the essence of form, line, spatial rhythm, texture, and movement found in nature motivates my work. My intention is to reveal a millisecond of time, and to share visually a sense of that time in place.
My belief is that all 'regions' have a certain atmospheric quality; the feeling of an environment is singular to a specific region and an instant moment. (In my mind this theory is validated in part by the advent of weather apps that provide time and element weather forecasts for very precise areas within a broader weather system.) My places of interest are primarily of the Western NY region.
My artistic style, be it expressed in a color mix, an opaque white, an ink scribble, intersection and overlapping translucent wash areas, etc., is intended to please the eye as well as convey an emotional sense of my chosen subject." ~ Margaret Haug-Chlebowski
